Just as for us God's plans for Lucifer were for good and not evil. He was created as the minister of music in heaven.

Lucifer was in charge of music in Heaven before he rebelled and became the devil (the deceiver). However, he sought his own "stardom" and was removed from his position. Now, he leads many people away from God using his knowledge of music.
